Anyone missing an emu?

Yesterday driving down our driveway there’s an emu hanging around…it was spotted again by Phil Rinker today. I’m used to bears deer and coyote. But an emu? Really? Felt like Jurassic park yesterday with him running away

personally, I’d keep well clear of that Jurassic birdie, however, if anyone is having a Steve Irwin moment…http://www.trailslesstravelled.com/how-to-catch-an-emu/
and please, make sure you take video!
Be safe , y’all!

Just read that – hilarious – thanks for sharing!
Well, there have been a lot of interesting Ashton Woods photos over the years but I think this wins for “most unusual”!!!
I have seen a house by highway 55 with a couple of emus in an enclosed area by an old barn. They were visible from the road, on the right side of the road, as you drive down the mountain from the West Virginia state line towards Wardensville, perhaps four miles before Wardensville. If this emu escaped from there, it would have had to walk over 20 miles to get to Ashton Woods. I will plan to stop by to ask the next time I drive to Ashton Woods, which will probably be this Friday.
Were you ever able to contact these people? The emu reappeared between the AW and TV gates yesterday – ASSUMING it’s the only one! Wouldn’t that be a hoot if there were more than one. Be interested to know. BTW, I think 20 miles would not be a difficult thing for an emu barring getting run over while crossing the road.
“Did you see the size of that chicken……..” lol, love that movie! Now I have to stop by the cabin to see this thing. Was going to mow this evening anyway. Should be an interesting story to find where this thing came from.
6 ft tall up to 150 lbs——big bird
Saw it yesterday as well, on Trough Rd, just before you hit the power lines. Was planning on posting about it aw well. Thanks Kim for the prompt.
