Kids activities near by

I was wondering if there are any local activities/clubs for our kids to do here, such as martial arts schools, 4H schools, football leagues, etc. My wife and I are trying to decide if moving to our place in the near future with small kids is a possibility.

There are some athletic activities in the area including baseball, soccer, golf, swimming, basketball and football. Baseball and soccer usually start around the age of 4 or 5, not sure about the swim or golf teams/clubs, basketball around 2nd grade, and football starts with flag football in kindergarten to 3rd grade, tackle little league football is from 4th grade-6th grade and then middle school and high school sports.

There are 4-H clubs in the area. Also, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. The Hardy County Wellness Center offers a Wiggle and Jiggle class for little ones (toddlers – preschoolers). Hardy County has 2 parks; one with a community pool. The Hardy County Library offers a story time hour.

And of course there are lots of outdoor activities——canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, hunting, etc.

Recommend you call Morgan Hill See at the Wellness Center in Moorefield. She runs several programs for various age groups. Valley View Golf Course also runs some golf programs during the summer.
