Notice of Annual Dues and Welcome to New Treasurer

Notice of Annual Dues and Welcome to New Treasurer

Hello Ashton Woods Owners

This is the New Treasurer Welcome and Notice of Annual Dues

First of all, we have a new treasurer, please welcome Steve Williams, who is taking over the treasurer position as of January 1, 2023.

The time for Annual Dues is upon us. Please be aware of the increase of $100, making dues now $600 per lot. This amount applies to all owners that have access to their properties via Ashton Woods Roads.

Owners who do not access their property via the Ashton Woods Road, please submit your annual dues of $60 per lot.

Per our covenants, these amounts were voted on and approved during the Annual Owners Meeting in October.

If you have delinquent dues from prior years, please include those at prior year’s amounts of either $500 or $50 per lot, as pertains to your road access.

You may make your payment online through the AWPOA website under Owners Area > Payments.

Alternatively, you may also send a check through the mail. Make checks payable to AWPOA and mail to:

If we pay these $600 are they gonna due some road work cuz it’s nothing but wash boards from my road to the main gate.. this is the worst I have seen these roads in the 4 years I have been here

Heather it’s due to all contracts coming in. And people flying on the roads! It’s hard keep up when there so many contractors coming in and out! He gets washboards out and in two to three days they are back due to contractors and people inn here driving fast! I understand your frustration with these wash boards but it starts with telling contractors to slow down and all of us homeowners also! Stop think how many new people are in here building homes! So those very large trucks coming in and out are very hard on roads specially if roads are soft from weather related. I know for a fact Phil Rinker takes extremely large pride in this community working for everyone! He on call 24-7 he jumps to help anyone! Roads and weather is beyond his control!
If you like to talk to Phil who does the roads in here feel free to call him he will explain you the the wash boards and gravel to you! 304-851-4527
Please realize the board has to tell Phil where what and when to do. The work!
      Thank you Ellie

It seems like the elite have all the gravel and well-maintained roads. Us regular folk get nothing. How can you raise the dues and make us pay for the elite’s driveways and roads? Lockinger seems to be the only well-maintained road.
What about Ridge Road, it needs some major attention. What does it take to get everyone treated the same? Are HOA under any state regulations? Wait, do not answer that. I will research how to report mismanaged HOA’s tomorrow. If there is anyone else that would be available to give me some support, please email back.
What about the trees that were taken down and the curve that was removed that had been there forever. Yet other turns need attention. Why can’t you make our community look nicer? Thank you, Gene Lot 289

Also I would like to know what gives you the authority to bock a property owner from voicing their opinion?
    So do not block me.

    Heather and Gene,
We spent quite a few thousand dollars on your particular roads last spring.
    Right up to your properties.
I had a contractor “Boom mow” (trim overhanging Trees).
The dangerous curve on a highly traveled main road was removed.
I reviewed your particular roads early spring and found them to actually be in better condition gravel wise than almost all the other side roads. We re-gravel all of the roads every 3 years. This spring is year 3. Your roads will be gravelled.
As far as the thousands of dollars spent on your roads and only 3 others for boom mowing last spring, all of the other 40 miles of our roads are in desperate need of attention to trees overhanging in our 60 foot boundaries.
Heather,Gene, please call me so we can talk about this. Tim

I will call you later, but I want all property owners to be aware of what is happening. You refer to your roads, what does that mean?? I thought the 40+ miles of roads are our roads. I am going by to take pictures of the roads you refer to. I am hoping to be able to see who has gravel from 3 years ago and who has received gravel this past year. All property owners must be treated equally. No one should get special attention.

I do not understand why any lot owner should be able to pay $60 and get the use of all of Ashton Wooda and yet others must pay $600 for that same benefit.

Our neighborhood would look much nicer if the trees were cut and debris removed rather than “boom cut” and debris left. Do you think that could be an option?

I hope all property owners want the same outcome, a neighborhood we can be proud of.
thank you and I look forward to resolving these matters, Gene and Carla lot#289

    Gene,
I hope we can come to a understanding when you call me.
There is a lot going on with these roads. Too much to explain in writing.
But i do want folks to know, at no time was anyone’s driveway gravelled by community dues.
As for Lockinger Ridge Rd, a contractor was building and doing work on 3 different homes on top of Lockinger Ridge. The Board asked the contractor to spread gravel on the road between the three houses because the road damage. He reluctantly did so.The contractor was also building a home a short distance from Lochinger Ridge, on Winterberry rd at a later date. He still used our roads to go back and forth to Lockinger Ridge Rd. The Board decided to gravel just the portion of Lockinger, Hampshire and South Branch Mountain rd that wasn’t gravelled but was effected by heavy equipment. A question to the Community might be…
Should anyone building a home require the contractor to replace gravel from the gate, to that build site? It would be a huge expense for the home owner ultimately.
The Board has in the past limited heavy equipment from entering Ashton Woods build sites while the roads are soft from Freeze Thaw. This may not be fair to the contractor or home/lot owner.
We are just trying to find balance and still keep everyone happy.
    Tim
