Trashton Woods
We should all care about the condition of our community but lately the trash that can be seen not only on the sides of the road but on property that is under construction is disheartening and frankly embarrassing.
When we began building our home, I had a “speech” for every contractor coming into our community under our gate code explaining that we have guidelines and we expected they abide by including:
– There is a speed limit on our roads to ensure the safety of all that travel. It’s not a suggestion! If you are traveling faster than you should, have the decency to slow down if approaching another vehicle and if one of my neighbors calls you out for being disrespectful, you apologize and don’t let it happen again. Under no circumstances should you lash out, threaten, cuss, etc. as these are my neighbors and friends.
– Take all trash with you and ensure that anything in the back of your truck, on trailer, etc. is secure. If something falls off, stop and pick it up.
I would hope that our neighbors or friends of people we know would care enough to not discard trash when in our community. As a resident, if you see stuff, take a moment and pick it up and discard. Here’s a picture of what we collected on our last trip to the mailbox….

Thanks Wayne and Elaine for doing that and reminding everyone on the importance of discussing this topic to contractors, visitors and home/landowners.

You hit the nail on the head!
Littering cannot be tolerated.
I always stop and pick up trash when within the community
Ashton Woods is a very unique area and my family is all for keeping it pristine

Thanks Wayne for picking up that trash too.. i do the same on ATV rides when i see it but i have noticed a lot more lately.
I agree; maybe make that part of the onboarding process for new owners? Re-iterating the importance of policing our community and taking note of contractors who consistently break speed limits and leave messes. Well said, Wayne.
Agree about the contractors, but it’s sort of a losing battle. Once we get finished up I’m going to spend months searching the woods for all the trash that blew around the site.
